Conflx Terms of Service

The short version sits at the top of every section. The long version is still written for humans.

Effective date: July 12, 2026

Contact: legal@conflx.app

These terms are an agreement between you and Conflx LLC, a California limited liability company ("Conflx," "we," "us"), covering the Conflx service: conflx.app, app.conflx.app, the Conflx mobile apps when released, and the Conflx API.

By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.

1. What Conflx is

Conflx is a tool for cataloging trading card collections and selling from them: scanning, physical-location inventory, price information, and listing to marketplaces. Where buying and selling happens through Conflx directly, Conflx is a platform, not the seller. Sellers on Conflx are independent merchants selling their own cards. We provide the software; the sale is between buyer and seller.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 13 to use Conflx, and at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to sell.
  • Keep your credentials secure; you are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us immediately at legal@conflx.app if you believe your account is compromised.
  • One person per account. (Multi-user/staff access is not currently offered; if it ships, the account owner will be responsible for staff actions under it.)
  • You can delete your account at any time, in-app. Deleting an account with active listings or unfulfilled orders is blocked until those are resolved.

3. Tiers, billing, and limits

The tiers. Conflx has a free tier and two paid subscriptions (ladder ratified 2026-07-11; billed monthly — no annual plans are currently offered):

  • Free — $0. The whole collection, uncapped: unlimited cards and locations, full-speed scanning, three price alerts, and deck-format exports.
  • Standard$5/month. Everything in Free, plus the intelligence layer: price history, unlimited alerts, and the buylist crossover lens.
  • Pro$25/month. Everything in Standard, plus the seller loop: multi-platform listing and sync, auto-end, and pull runs. Selling through Pro carries the marketplace fees in §4: 1% on marketplace-synced sales and 3% on sales made directly through Conflx.

Multi-user/staff access is not currently offered as a tier. Current pricing and tier contents are listed at conflx.app; if that page and these terms differ, the price you were shown at checkout is the one that applies to you.

Automatic renewal. Paid subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Unless you cancel first, your payment method will be charged the subscription price (plus any applicable tax) at the start of each monthly billing period. You can cancel at any time in Settings → Billing (which opens the Stripe customer portal) or by emailing legal@conflx.app; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for, and you keep paid features until then. You'll receive a receipt for every charge; if annual plans are ever offered, they will include a reminder before each renewal.

Refunds.Because you keep paid features through the end of any period you've paid for, subscription fees are not refunded for partial periods, except where the law where you live requires it (nothing in this section limits rights you have under consumer-protection law, including any cooling-off or withdrawal right). If we materially reduce what your paid tier includes in the middle of a period you've paid for, you may cancel and ask for a prorated refund of the remainder at legal@conflx.app.

The selling fees (Pro). The 1% fee applies only to sales synced through Conflx to a connected marketplace; the 3% feeapplies only to sales made directly through Conflx (§4). Neither applies to CSV or manual exports, or to anything you sell outside Conflx. Until Conflx begins metering synced sales, the 1% fee is displayed but not collected; we will give at least 30 days' notice before collection begins.

What we don't charge, so it's in writing: the collection itself is free and uncapped; no per-scan metering; no fee on CSV or manual-sale channels.

Payment and tax.Subscriptions are billed through Stripe; we never see or store your card number. Prices are exclusive of tax; where we are required to collect sales tax or VAT, it is calculated and shown at checkout. If a renewal payment fails, we'll retry and notify you; if it still fails, your account moves to the free tier — with your data intact, per the next paragraph.

Price changesrequire at least 30 days' notice and take effect at your next billing cycle — never mid-period.

  • Losing a tier never destroys your data. If a paid tier lapses, your collection and its data stay readable, editable, exportable, and deletable — paid features (intelligence, the seller loop) pause; the free tier itself is uncapped.

4. Selling on Conflx

You are the merchant of record. When you sell through Conflx, you — not Conflx — are the seller: you own the inventory, set the prices, and are responsible for the accuracy of your listings, for shipping, for your return handling, and for your own tax obligations (including collecting where you are required to and reporting your income).

Payments.Direct sales are processed through Stripe Connect. To sell, you must complete Stripe's onboarding and agree to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. Stripe — not Conflx — verifies your identity and holds and pays out your funds. Selling directly through Conflx is available on the Pro tier. Conflx collects a 3% platform fee on each direct sale, deducted automatically from the transaction — this is our fee for bringing you the buyer, and it is the only fee on a direct sale (the 1% synced-sales fee does not additionally apply to it).

External marketplaces. If you connect eBay, TCGplayer, or other marketplaces, your listings and sales there are governed by those marketplaces' terms and fees, in addition to any Conflx tier fee. We are not responsible for marketplace decisions (suspensions, fee changes, API availability).

Connecting a marketplace account — your authorization. When you connect an external marketplace account, you authorize Conflx to access that account and act on it on your behalf, on your instructions, through that marketplace's official interfaces. What we do under this authorization: create, update, and end listings you tell us to; retrieve your listings, orders, and the order details needed to fulfill them; update order status, shipping, and tracking; and apply pricing you set or pricing rules you turn on. We act only on your instructions and the settings you configure — we don't buy, sell, bid, or message anyone on your behalf beyond that. You remain responsible for your account's compliance with that marketplace's terms; connecting through Conflx doesn't change your relationship with the marketplace, and we are not a party to it.

Your connection credentials. Connecting typically stores an access credential for your marketplace account (an OAuth token, or for some marketplaces an API token you generate). We treat these as secrets: they are encrypted at rest, never displayed back to anyone (including you), never shared or sold, and used only to do the things described above. You can disconnect a marketplace at any time in Settings; disconnecting stops all activity under the authorization and deletes the stored credential, as does deleting your account. One marketplace-specific note: where the credential is an API token you generated yourself (for example, CardTrader), deleting our copy stops Conflx's access, but the token itself remains valid until you regenerate it on that marketplace's site— we'll remind you of this when you disconnect.

Listing accuracy.List only cards you physically possess and own. Condition, edition, foil status, and language must be accurate to the best of your knowledge. Conflx's inventory system tracks what it believes you have and where — but the physical cards are your responsibility, and repeated overselling (selling cards you can't produce) is grounds for losing selling privileges.

5. Cancellations, refunds, and returns

For direct sales through Conflx:

  • Before shipment:either party may cancel. A cancellation refunds the buyer in full through Stripe and returns the cards to the seller's available inventory. Sellers who cancel excessively may lose selling privileges.
  • After shipment: refund requests are not automatic. They are flagged for review, and resolution depends on the circumstances (item not as described, lost in transit, agreed return). Sellers are expected to respond to reasonable claims; buyers are expected not to abuse them. Where a return is agreed, the buyer returns the cards and the refund issues on receipt.
  • Stripe's and card networks' dispute processes (chargebacks) exist independently of this policy. A chargeback is between the cardholder, the banks, and the seller as merchant of record; sellers are responsible for chargeback outcomes and associated fees on their sales.

Sales on external marketplaces follow that marketplace's cancellation, return, and dispute rules, not this section.

6. Prohibited items and conduct

You may not list or sell through Conflx:

  • Counterfeit, proxy, or altered-to-deceive cards. This includes fakes, rebacks, re-inked or trimmed cards not disclosed as altered, and unauthorized reprints. This is the cardinal rule of the platform: counterfeits earn immediate removal and account termination.
  • Stolen goods, or anything you do not own or lack the right to sell.
  • Randomized-outcome sales (razzes, raffles, spins, chase-style breaks, or any format where the buyer pays for a chance at an item rather than an identified item at a stated price). Conflx direct sales are fixed-price sales of identified singles and sealed product only.
  • Anything illegal to sell where you or the buyer are located.

You also may not: misrepresent card condition or grading; manipulate prices through fake transactions; scrape the service or harvest other users' data; interfere with the service's operation or security; use another user's account; or use Conflx to violate a marketplace's or game publisher's rights.

We may remove listings and suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you what happened and why.

7. Your content and data

Your inventory data, scans, images, and listings are yours. You grant us the license we need to operate the service: to host, process, display, and transmit that content to run Conflx's features (including showing your listings to buyers and syncing them to marketplaces you connect). We may also use the card images and results from scans you confirm to measure and improve our card-recognition system, including to train and evaluate our recognition models — and de-identified copies of confirmed scan images may be retained in our training corpus after deletion, as described in detail, with your controls over it, in the Privacy Policy. You can export your data, and the license ends when you delete it, except for records we may retain (fraud prevention, legal obligations) and those de-identified copies — both per the Privacy Policy.

8. Card data and trademarks

Card names, set names, and card images are the property of their respective game publishers (e.g., Wizards of the Coast, The Pokémon Company). Conflx is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any game publisher or marketplace. Card data is provided in part by third-party sources (e.g., Scryfall). Price information is estimated market data, not an appraisal, offer, or financial advice — verify before you rely on it.

9. API terms — stub (no API tokens are currently offered)

If/when API tokens ship (a future Pro capability), until fuller API terms are published, these rules apply:

  • Tokens act on your own account's data, limited by the scopes you grant them. Keep them secret; anyone holding a token can act within its scopes.
  • Rate limits apply and may change; don't work around them.
  • No reselling API access or providing it to third parties as a service.
  • We may revoke tokens or change the API with notice reasonable to the circumstances; the API is provided as-is during this early period.

[NOTE: replace with full API terms before opening any API access.]

10. Disclaimers

Conflx is provided "as is."We work hard to make it reliable, but we don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that recognition results are accurate, that price data is correct or current, or that your inventory records match physical reality — the app tracks a belief about where your cards are; only you can verify the cards themselves. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Liability limits

To the fullest extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost business, arising from your use of Conflx. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the greater of $100 or the amount you paid Conflx in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (e.g., for fraud or willful misconduct).

Conflx is not a party to sales between buyers and sellers. We are not liable for the quality, authenticity, safety, or legality of items sold, the truth of listings, or the performance of either party — subject to our own obligations to operate the platform as described in these terms.

12. Indemnity

If a third party brings a claim against us arising from your listings, your sales, your content, or your violation of these terms, you agree to defend and indemnify us against that claim, including reasonable legal fees. We'll notify you of any such claim and reasonably cooperate.

13. Disputes, governing law

Informal first: before filing anything, email legal@conflx.appwith a description of the dispute; we'll try to resolve it within 30 days.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes not resolved informally may be brought in the state or federal courts located in California, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction. (Small-claims court remains available where its rules allow.)

Claims must be brought within one year of when they arose, where the law permits that limit, and you and Conflx each waive the right to participate in a class action to the extent enforceable.

14. Changes and termination

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect; continuing to use Conflx after that is acceptance. If you don't agree, stop using the service and delete your account (export your data first).

We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these terms, for legal risk, or if the service shuts down — in the last case, with as much notice as we reasonably can give and a window to export your data.
